    La pacificación de los yaquis y su deportación forzosa a principios del siglo 20 – distintas interpretaciones de los acontecimientos en la prensa contemporánea

    This paper focuses on the press reactions to the Yaqui conflict in Mexico and the deportation of the Yaquis in two contemporary daily newspapers in the period between 1902 and 1908 during the presidency of Porfirio Díaz. The essay seeks to understand the economic interests behind the events in the Yaqui River Valley region, the reasons for the deportations and the attitudes of the local hacendados and mine owners in the state of Sonora, as well as of the federal government or plantation owners in other parts of the country.

    Walt Disney en América Latina – La diplomacia cultural interamericana durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial

    Franklin D. Roosevelt Jószomszédság Politikája az amerikai kontinens országai közötti kapcsolatok javítására törekedett. Ennek keretében Walt Disney megbízást kapott, hogy jószolgálati körutat tegyen Latin-Amerikában, inspirációt keresve a régióról szóló filmekhez. Ő és csoportja találkozott politikusokkal és művészekkel, kutatta a helyi kultúrákat, és személyesen is megismerte a régió társadalmát, földrajzát és élővilágát. E tapasztalatok eredményeként Latin-Amerika az 1940-es években két Disney-film (Saludos Amigos, The Three Caballeros) hátteréül szolgált. A tanulmány bemutatja Walt Disney és rajz filmfigurái szerepét az Amerika-közi kapcsolatok átalakulásában, megvizsgálva e küldetés pozitív és negatív következményeit egyaránt.
