Abstract
Jelen tanulmány Babits Mihály első regénye, A gólyakalifa és az angol nyelvű doppelgänger-történetek (William Wilson, Dr. Jekyll és Mr. Hyde
különös esete) közötti konkrét szövegközi párhuzamokat és megegyezéseket hivatott igazolni. Ez a vizsgálat nemcsak a regény interkulturális pozícióját bizonyítja, hanem Babits sokrétű filozófiai és irodalmi gondolkodását is.
This study aims to demonstrate the specific intertextual parallels and correspondences between Mihály Babits’s first novel, The Stork Caliph, and classic Anglophone doppelgänger narratives, such as William Wilson and The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. This analysis not only highlights the intercultural positioning of Babits’s most modernist novel but also reflects the writer’s complex philosophical and literary thought.
