dc.description.abstractA Római Birodalom hódításainak nagy részét a Köztársaság korában valósította meg. A növekvő állami feladatok ellátása a köztársasági államforma keretei között egyre nehezebbé vált. Ehhez járult, hogy az állami tisztségekért éles politikai csatározások folytak, hisz a vezető tisztség többnyire hatalmat, befolyást és vagyongyarapodást biztosított. A tanulmány azt mutatja be, hogy milyen politikai motivációk következtében és hogyan valósult meg lépésről lépésre – több normatív szabályozás eredményeként – az állami tisztségek betöltésének szigorú rendje.hu
dc.description.abstractThe Roman Empire carried out the majority of its conquests during the Republic. Fulfilling the increasing administrative duties became more and more difficult within the republican limits. Commonly, the members of the Roman elite fought hard political battles for public offices, as holding a leading position usually provided power, influence, and wealth. The present study tries to demonstrate the political motivations behind and the step-by-step implementation of the strict order of applying for public offices – as a result of several normative regulations.en
